| Biography: | Yu Yeon Kim is an independent curator
based in New York. She was the
Commissioner for Latin America for the
3rd Gwangju Biennale, South Korea,
2000 (Exotica Incognita) and the 2nd
Johannesburg Biennale, South Africa,
1997-98.
Recently she has curated Translated
Acts - Performance and Body Art from
East Asia at the Ha us der Kulturen der
Welt, Berlin, Queens Museum of Art,
New York and Museo de Carrillo Gil in
Mexico City (2001-2003).
Other curatorial projects include
Fragmented Histories, the Asia-Pacific
section of the Cinco Continentesy Una
Ciudad exposition at Mexico City
Museum (1998); DMZ_2000 (the
Demilitarized Zone between North and
South Korea) and OMNIZONE:
Perspectives in Mapping Digital Culture,
an online project featured on both the
Plexus.org and the Guggenheim
Museum websites.
Her current project is ISAPPEARANCE,
a collaboration with the Haus der
Kulturen der Welt and Tsinghua
