| | Biography: | Lartigue was a master of snapshot
photography. Mostly earing a living as a
a painter, only when he was 69 were his
early photographs re-discovered. After an
introduction to the curator of the
Museum of Modern Art in New York, an
exhibition of his work at the museum
was arranged.
His work appeared as a photo spread in
Life magazine in 1963, in the same
issue that commemorated the death of
John Kennedy.
His first book, Diary of a Century was
published in collaboration with Richard
Avedon,
