Description:
David Blandy digitally removes the action figures from a violent computer game, leaving the strange echo of the landscape backdrop. He provides us with an unpeopled, natural world. This forest clearing on a panoramic loop surrounds the eye and offers us a host of traditional romantic associations. As a virtual image, however, there is no depth of life here, and the seemingly sublime is a fake.
