Description:
Faint colour super 8 films, projected in four sections one on top of the other, showing different fragments of the same tall plant. The four projectors rattle away in loops of different lengths, giving an intensely noisy, mechanical edge to a quiet study of a plant. Artist’s statement: ‘The four sections in this film projection were filmed consecutively rather than simultaneously. Each section consists of film in a repetitive loop. As four loops together they create a continually changing combination of images because each section is of different length. The still, silent, film footage is contrasted with the physical aspects of its projection - the rapid effects of dirt and scratching on the film and the industrial noise and appearance of four projectors.’
