Description:
Architectural spaces are edited together from various film shots. Artist Statement. ‘The starting point for my work is the circulation of images, not only in the material sense but also in terms of the imagination, in the way we use images around us to orientate ourselves. This process is very clearly played out in our relationship to cinema. I use video to think through this relationship, working from the disparities between the two formats. I am interested in the way that films organise their own space for the viewer, and how this influences our perception of the world around us. “Manderley” is about how one mentally constructs a space while watching a film, relating this process to our capacity for mental cartography in a more general sense’
