Description:
Three separate videos to the three popular songs of the title. In the first, a sleepy man attempts to stay awake and smile. His attempts only end with him seeming to grimace in a false pained way, without any warmth. Second, a male and a female hand wrestle as the female holds onto a chrome railing. At first it seems a romantic tussle, then it becomes clear the male is attempting to wrest her grip from the railing. Third, impromptu film of a girl reacting and performing a suggestive routine when she spots the camera. Artist's statement. ‘The work attempts to playfully subvert the relationship between image, music and text. The video aims to illustrate and expose some of the possible subtexts contained in music, image or lyrics.’
