Description:
‘My work is concerned with football stadia, empty. I am fascinated by the architecture of the people holders, and the idea of reversing their role by focusing on them when they are not performing their function. I work using photographs as a guide and exaggerate both the form and colour. I am interested in the idea of ‘mass consumption’ and the way in which football grounds are a great source of pride for their towns. This is shown by the way the grounds use colour, in a celebration of the pride they feel for their clubs. I want the viewer to be drawn into the ‘strange’ spaces I create.’
